Collective training, collaborative development

10 partners. 12 weeks.
1 shared ambition: to test the limits of synthetic environment development.

The character of warfare is changing. Threats to our armed forces are evolving. But military training is struggling to keep up. Existing environments are slow and expensive to develop. They can’t faithfully represent the real world and the contemporary operating environment, or keep pace with the ever-changing nature of warfare.

To prepare personnel for complex, fast-moving operations in densely populated environments, we need more complex, richly detailed, multi-domain synthetic training solutions that can be developed and adapted at the speed of relevance.

And that’s why we’ve built Skyral: to allow the very best people and organisations from across government, industry and academia to collaborate on the swift, cost-effective development of complex synthetic environments.

Demonstration partners

Together with 10 of our partners, we got to work on a complex, challenging and rigorous collective training scenario, intending to see just how far and how fast we could take it in the time available.

We wanted to produce a complex, challenging and rigorous collective training capability scenario in order to demonstrate how – when developers use Skyral to collaborate – you get something that’s so much more than the sum of its parts.

Whilst not a production-ready capability, the result is a demonstration of what 15 engineers can do in a few months.
