Improbable Defence

THE FUTURE WAR AND
DETERRENCE CONFERENCE

Wiston House, Wilton Park   |   3 – 5 October 2022

Turn the West’s technological edge into an enduring strategic advantage

From climate change and mass migration to political interference, sub-threshold operations and hybrid warfare, the security challenges that the West faces are increasingly fluid, fast moving and interconnected.

Our governments and militaries need to be able to respond in a way that’s fully integrated and every bit as dynamic as the threats themselves. And they’re relying on industry partners and academia to collaborate in order to provide the transformative capabilities they need.

Which is why Improbable Defence has built Skyral. It’s a software development platform for building virtual worlds that transform how we plan and prepare for complex situations. It’s faster, it costs less, and adds more value than ever before – and it’s the foundation of a diverse, collaborative ecosystem of organisations from across industry, government and academia.

Virtual worlds for real-world planning, training and decision-support

Planning and decision support

Skyral supports the swift development and ongoing evolution of mission-focused applications for a range of government and defence business. From policy design to operational planning, network infrastructure development to intelligence operations, this latest generation of synthetic environment applications lets the user focus on the mission – not the application.

Training

As the character of warfare changes, it’s more important than ever that front-line commands have access to the very latest, ever-evolving technologies for collective training and mission rehearsal. Solution providers can use Skyral to deliver these, drawing on the content and capabilities they need to deliver challenging, complex and highly realistic environments that meet the precise needs of training audiences.

Changing how industry collaborates so government can transform how it operates

The Skyral Partner Network

The Skyral Partner Network brings together the leading minds from across government, industry and academia to discuss the latest research and technological innovations, and to expedite the path to a new generation of synthetic environments for defence and national security. It’s open and free to join.

The Myridian programme

Earlier this year, Improbable Defence launched the Myridian programme. It’s a research initiative that brings together experts from across disciplines including modelling and simulation, data analytics, AI and machine learning, distributed systems, social dynamics and human behaviour, and other related fields.

The aim? To make the very latest research and innovations available, useful and usable to government departments – and to do so more quickly and economically than is currently possible.
